This is a good way to impress guests who say they hate gefilte fish.
Fried Gefilte Fish
From: Master Chefs Cook Kosher
Makes: 24 Servings
Ingredients
1½ lb Salmon fillet
1½ lb Whitefish fillet
3 carrot
1 onion
5 eggs
2 cups matzoh meal
salt
pepper
½ cup safflower oil (for Pesach)
Method
Grind the salmon, whitefish, carrots and onion in a grinder or food processor
Place ground mixture in a large bowl and blend with 3 eggs and 1 cup of the matzoh meal. Season with salt and pepper
Place the remaining 1 cup matzoh meal in a shallow bowl. Beat remaining 2 eggs in another bowl. Shape fish mixture into cakes or patties. Dip each cake into the beaten eggs, then into matzoh meal, coating completely
Heat the oil in a large fry pan over medium-high heat and fry until fish is brown on each side
